Festivals

Yes, Around June is alive and screening in an eclectic range of festivals - we’ll be in the middle of the country in Columbus, Ohio. Back to the West Coast in Ojai, CA. Then we finally reach across the Atlantic to drop in Bari, Italia and Berlin, Germany.

So… if you happen to be in one of these places, take a seat, let the lights dim and enter our cinema…

There’s more than surfing in Santa Cruz. . .

Yes. There’s waves. Bare feet. Sand. The aroma of grilling, no doubt. Look again, beyond the horizon, is…

Santa Cruz Film Festival

Yes, Around June is around again. We’re playing at the Santa Cruz Film festival this coming May. I don’t have the exact screening date with me, will post when I do. For more info, just go to their site, or give them a jingle. It’s simple. You know, you say hello, they say hello, you say yes, I’m Bob, and I’d like to buy 100 tickets to the screening of Around June. Or of course, Betsy, Tammy, Bill, Fontaine would do. Or a host of at least a dozen other good human names. Good speaking with you Bob. I must get back to my magnifying glass. Working hard to get the sun to hit it just right, as I am doing all I can in the field of solar energy.

Hope

Yes, the sun is shining. The clouds have rolled away. Don’t know about you, but my brain is finally free to rove (and I don’t mean Karl) the creative side. For a while there, it was parked on the dark side. It sat on the proverbial fence. But I am now free. Thanks to large groups of Americans in Southern and Mid-Western states. They voted correctly! Thank you.

Around June is making the rounds. Yes, trying to sell an independent film in the market we now have is a daunting task. The way I prefer to imagine it’s future, is much like that of June herself - find the strength to change. Re-invent yourself.

Ok. Reading wise, I recommend Obama’s book - The Audacity of Hope. It’s good. Also good to get to know our next Prez. Also enjoyed “Counselor,” by Ted Sorensen - JFK’s speech writer. Other than that, I’ve been all over the place. Reading Kafka shorts, halfway through “Richard III”

- “Shine out, fair sun, till I have bought a glass, That I may see my shadow as I pass.”

Joe the Plumber

Yes. Today, Joe the plumber announced who he’s endorsing. Yes, all of us with working minds just couldn’t wait. Right? I mean, we all had no idea which candidate this Joe America would endorse. Right? Sure. You betcha! So, the good news? Joe the plumber endorsed McCain, Colin Powell endorsed Obama. Enough said? Yes.

Well, Halloween is coming up. So picture a McCain Administration. Joe the plumber as Secretary of Sate. Joe the Weasel (Leiberman) as Secretary of Defense. Sarah Palin as VP, continuing her foreign relations with Russia while sitting on the rooftop of the White House with binoculars and a Coors Light. And of course Dr. Nasty himself - McSame as Prez, talking to us live on TV with his hands wildly gesturing as he says “My friends, fear not, today I have made the world a little smaller, thus better for us, by attacking Iran.?

But that’s only a Halloween scenario. The real deal will be “whaz up” 8 years later - CHANGE!

Last foaming words of the day - somebody start a JOE THE PLUMBER IS AN IDIOT Facebook page.
